Injury Prevention

Most lower limb injuries do not appear without warning. There are usually signs, whether it is a movement pattern that places too much load on a particular structure, a muscle imbalance, or a flexibility deficit. The trouble is, these signs are often invisible until something breaks down.

Our injury prevention assessments are designed to find these risk factors early. Whether you are preparing for a new season, returning to exercise, or simply want to stay active without setbacks, a targeted screening can make a real difference.

Biomechanical Screening

A biomechanical screening looks at how your body moves and identifies areas where dysfunction or imbalance may lead to injury over time. We assess your feet, ankles, knees, hips and pelvis as a connected system.

Lower Limb Alignment

We examine how your joints align during standing, walking and sport-specific movements. Poor alignment can increase stress on joints, tendons and ligaments, often without any symptoms until an injury occurs.

Foot Posture and Function

Your foot type and how it behaves under load play a major role in injury risk. We assess arch height, foot posture, pronation and supination patterns, and how your foot interacts with the ground during movement.

Joint Range of Motion

Restricted or excessive joint mobility can both contribute to injury. We measure key ranges of motion in the foot, ankle, knee and hip to identify any limitations or instability that may need addressing.

Movement Analysis

Static assessments only tell part of the story. We watch how you move in real time to understand the demands you place on your body and where breakdowns are likely to occur.

Simple, instant health-fund claiming at every appointment.

Muscle Strength and Flexibility Testing

Strong, flexible muscles protect joints and absorb shock during activity. Weakness or tightness in key muscle groups is one of the most common and most correctable risk factors for injury.

Personalised Prevention Programs

Once we have identified your risk factors, we build a program designed to address them. The goal is practical, targeted work that fits into your routine and makes a measurable difference.

Exercise Prescription

We prescribe strengthening and flexibility exercises based on your assessment findings. Each program is specific to your needs and progresses as you improve, rather than following a generic template.

Footwear Advice

The right shoes for your foot type and activity can reduce injury risk significantly. We provide specific recommendations based on your foot posture, biomechanics and the sports or activities you do.

Training Load Guidance

Many injuries come from doing too much, too soon. We help you understand how to manage training volume and intensity, particularly during pre-season, when returning from time off, or when building up to an event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who is physically active and wants to reduce their injury risk. It is particularly useful if you are starting a new sport, returning to exercise after a break, preparing for a season, or have a history of recurring injuries.
An initial injury prevention assessment typically takes 45 to 60 minutes. This allows time for a thorough screening, discussion of findings, and an initial exercise program to take home.
Bring the shoes you train and play in, along with shorts so we can observe your lower limb movement clearly. If you have any previous scans or reports, bring those along as well.
We usually recommend a follow-up after 4 to 6 weeks to check progress, adjust your program, and reassess any areas of concern. After that, the frequency depends on your goals and activity level.
