Treatment of Golf Podiatry related issues

Commonly playing golf for our clients at Melbourne Sports Podiatry is a competitive social outlet. Currently seen as a recreational sport for all different ages and skill levels, golf is uniquely tiring on the feet due to a long portion of the game being spent walking between holes.

For a number of our patients, the moment foot pain becomes prevalent is the moment they tend to come in for treatment. With a clear understanding that foot pain and the lower back are commonly affected simultaneously, our golfers have learnt that early intervention is vital to help prevent issues with their swing and allow them to continue enjoying walking around the golf course.

Prevention and Treatment

If you are in pain now or simply want to look at ways to prevent injury there is never a better time than now to have your feet, ankle joints and golfing shoes looked at.

All assessments are 30 minutes and 45 minutes for those patients who have had chronic/resilient problems that have been untreatable so to speak over a long time.

Common Methodology behind Treatments

Our methodology at Melbourne Sports Podiatry is simple but deliberate. Although all treatments are tailored based on the individual the way we find out how to best work you and our other patients come from the following process:

  1. Assess specific movement patterns based on the sport
  2. Assess structures between the lower back and feet
  3. Identify where the problem is stemming from
  4. Identify limitations or energy leaks
  5. Treat on the day and Plan ahead.
